About First Baptist Church
A Church Family in Eminence, Missouri
First Baptist Church is a small, close-knit Southern Baptist church family located in rural southeast Missouri. For generations, we’ve gathered in Eminence to worship Jesus, study God’s Word, and encourage one another in faith.
We’re not perfect people. We’re simply people who believe the Bible is true, that Jesus changes lives, and that the local church still matters.
Our desire is to love God wholeheartedly, love people genuinely, and make disciples faithfully — right here in Shannon County and beyond.
Loving God. Loving People. Making Disciples.
Everything we do — from Sunday worship to Wednesday ministries — flows from this simple calling.
Our Mission
What We Believe
We believe there is one true and living God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe the Bible is God’s Word — completely trustworthy and our guide for faith and life.
We believe every person is created in God’s image, yet separated from Him by sin.
We believe Jesus Christ lived without sin, died in our place, rose again, and offers forgiveness and new life to all who trust Him.
We believe salvation is by grace through faith — not by works.
We believe the church is called to worship God, grow in truth, care for one another, and share the gospel with the world.
Our Leadership
We are currently in a season of transition with an interim pastor while our Pastor Search Committee is prayerfully seeking the next man God has prepared to shepherd our church.
During this time, we remain steady in our commitment to Scripture, to one another, and to the mission of advancing God’s Kingdom in our community.
With an average Sunday morning congregation of around 100 faithful believers, we continue to worship, serve, and grow together — trusting the Lord to guide each next step.
Why We’re Here
We believe God has placed First Baptist Church in Eminence for a reason — to be a light in our town, to strengthen families, and to faithfully share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Whether you’ve lived here your whole life or just moved to the area, there’s a place for you here.
